Finance Associate Analyst – Cost Accounting (Quaker)

Overview

Working as an integral part of the Financial Reporting team, the Quaker Canada Cost Accounting Associate Analyst position is responsible for ensuring accurate and complete reporting of cost of sales and inventory.  This role is accountable for the end-to-end accuracy and integrity of master data of all costing for Quaker Canada. Additional accountabilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, presenting results to management and resolving any system/process issues that occur.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately close inventory and cost of sales each period
  • Maintain and update Quaker costing master data
  • Review and reconcile inventory and intercompany balance sheet accounts and present results to management
  • Review & reconcile co-packer statements
  • Business Partner to Supply Chain, Supply Chain Finance, Financial Reporting, and Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Address and resolve system and technical issues and support ad hoc requests/projects
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Pursuing Chartered Professional Accounting designation
  • Strong technical accounting, analytical and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of MfgPro and S4 Hana is an asset
  • Ability to develop insights from data and present insights to Management
  • Professional skepticism and attention to detail
  • Continuous improvement mindset to enhance and improve business processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently handling multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Problem solving skills - quickly analyze data, identify issues and propose/implement recommendations
