Overview

Job Overview:

  • To organise and execute assigned research and development projects for the regional CSD Bev R&D team (Calendar Delivery) covering work streams ranging from partial autonomous ownership through to transactional ad hoc delivery.
  • Support Project managers across all platforms to deliver low to medium complexity projects. Specifically focused on execution of prototype to production scale trials. Support sourcing of trial concentrate units
  • Lead, plan and execute production trials for low complexity projects and report trial results to R&D Manager utilizing the TSG methodology:

oDefine and align trial protocol cross functionally (Franchise, SC/OPS, Bottler Tech team, CE), TDC where relevant.

oCommunicate trial request with commercialization and lead pre-trial meetings specific to align supply chain and bottler technical teams with requirements.

R&D lead during trials at bottler site.

Approve or reject trials based on agreed parameters aligned with TDC and supply chain contact.

  • Assist with communication to PGCS to secure trial concentrate units working in with the NPD team.

Identify suitable concentrate units linked to relevant formulation code(s)

Source concentrate units

Confirm concentrate ETA and track delivery status.

Confirm concentrate arrival at site for trials.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  •     Execute product development and proof of principle through to scale-up activities in-plant by working closely as a cross-functional working group member. Scale-up activities will typically have only one dimension (e.g. concentrate conversion to finished product).
  •   Compile R&D project timelines to ensure required equipment and resource is available for use.
  •   Plan resources for trials and when needed align priorities with project managers.
  •   With support from manager, adapt experimental protocol to suit experiment as it progresses.
  •   With support from manager, liaise with SC/OPS to schedule, organise and run low complexity trials.
  •   Work with SC/OPS and bottler technical staff to secure necessary resources for trials.
  •   Provide recommendations based on results, align with manager / SC OPS and agree next steps.
  •   Draft R&D technical data such as trial protocol and finished pack standards with approval from R&D Manager.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in a Food Technology, Food Science or Chemical Engineering looking to build a long term career within R&D.
  • Good technical and analytical skills, basic knowledge of statistics, ability to interpret data and distil into useful and actionable information
  •   Understanding of and experience of working with experimental design.
  •   Have an up to date knowledge of technology and be able to absorb and apply this knowledge
  •   Food Industry Experience
  •   Supportive team player with an accurate, methodical, tidy and reliable approach.
  •   Results driven, demonstrate an ability to persevere and provide timely and direct feedback to others.
  •   High degree of self-motivation combined with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  •   Eager to learn and use initiative, self-starter.
  •   Ability to be able to work independently and to deal with change and increasing complexity.
